Season 6 of SWAT was a huge one for Victor Tan that upended his life. Can SWAT Season 7 have better times for David Lim’s cop?

SWAT Season 6 seemed to have Victor Tan doing well with his life. He and wife Bonnie were doing great and Tan was handling his job on the team with his usual tough side. He admitted he was distracted by Bonnie being away for her job as a sports agent but still doing his best to balance marriage with the job.

Tan’s life was turned upside down when Street and Powell had to break the news that Bonnie was cheating on him. He confronted Bonnie about it, and she confessed, with Tan angrily throwing her out.

Tan then made the mistake of drowning his sorrows in a bar and getting into a fight with a customer, leading to him spending the night in jail. It got worse as the upper brass decided to make an example of him and suspended Tan for a couple of weeks, a black mark on his record.

Tan was briefly tempted when Bonnie wanted to reconcile but decided he couldn’t trust her anymore and filed for divorce. So, with so much chaos in his life in Season 6, how can Season 7 improve for Tan?

What can happen to Tan in SWAT Season 7?

SWAT managed to survive cancellation to get a seventh and final season from CBS. It’s been delayed due to the ongoing strikes across Hollywood, but with just 13 episodes planned, it’s unsure how much personal development the team members can get.

Tan is likely putting his life back together, even though that suspension may work against him if he wants to go higher in the LAPD. It’s unsure if he’s ready for dating again as Bonnie’s betrayal still hurts him, but it would be nice if he makes a connection to someone outside the job.

At least Tan has the team backing him up and ready to help when needed, so while Season 6 saw his life coming apart, the final season of the series should hopefully put Tan on a better track to make up for the heartbreak he suffered before.

SWAT is streaming on Netflix and Paramount+.
