The Irrational is premiering on NBC, but fans may be curious as to how many episodes are in the new NBC series. Find out here!
The fall TV season looks a lot different this year, thanks to the ongoing strikes across Hollywood. Thankfully, it seems the Writers Guild of America strike may be coming to an end, although the Screen Actors Guild remains on strike.
This means NBC is pretty limited in what they can air for the fall. Thankfully, the network has caught a break in how they began production of The Irrational right after ordering the pilot in December 2022. That allows NBC to have a full season ready to go when scores of other shows are on hiatus.
The Irrational stars Jesse L. Martin as Alec Mercer, an expert in behavioral science. He aids anyone from his ex-wife FBI agent to private companies in understanding why people behave in bizarre ways. The show looks to mix some top-notch crime solving with some interesting personal storylines, such as Mercer looking into a bombing he survived as a child.
The series seems set for a good run, but when do episodes air on NBC?
The Irrational episode count and schedule
It appears the series has 10 episodes, which is typical for a mid-season NBC series, which the show was intended as. The series premieres Monday, Sept. 25 at 10/9c. It does seem NBC will air episodes on Wednesdays on USA Network and will obviously stream on Peacock.
While it’s not utterly definite yet, this appears to be the schedule for the show:
- Episode 1 – Sept. 25
- Episode 2 – Oct. 2
- Episode 3 – Oct. 9
- Episode 4 – Oct. 16
- Episode 5 – Oct. 23
- Episode 6 – Oct. 30
- Episode 7 – Nov. 6
- Episode 8 – Nov. 13
- Episode 9 – Nov. 20
- Episode 10 – Nov. 27
So with these 10 episodes, NBC hopes the show catches on with viewers and leads to The Irrational becoming a surprise success for the network.
The Irrational airs Mondays at 10/9c on NBC and streams on Peacock the following day.
