Aaron Thorsen certainly proved himself as a great cop in The Rookie, but now his life is on the line. What’s next for him in The Rookie Season 6?
Aaron Thorsen had an uphill battle to prove himself when he first came into the series. Not only was the team grieving the loss of Jackson West, but this was a man with a (sort of) criminal past. He’d been accused of murder. While he didn’t commit that murder and he wasn’t convicted, the news reports around him were enough to cloud judgments.
Fortunately, he was ready to fight for the career that he wanted. He proved himself to be a great cop, and he bonded with a fair few characters throughout the fifth season. However, in the end, his life was put on the line.
Thorsen and Juarez were attacked by a group after the LAPD. While Juarez survived, Thorsen’s life was left hanging in the balance. He made it through surgery, but the season finale ended with him crashing in the hospital room.
Will Thorsen survive in The Rookie Season 6?
There’s a good chance that we’ll see Thorsen back. I suspect that he will survive, as that will give his character more time to develop. We’re not done with Thorsen just yet.
The Rookie Season 6 would be a good time for him to reassess his life. Almost dying leaves a mark, especially when that almost death is linked somehow to work. Will he wonder if police work is right for him, or will it push him even harder to become a better cop?
There’s also the PTSD that comes from being attacked in the way that he was. The show has a chance to give us a look at how trauma affects people. We could even see more bonding between Lucy and Thorsen, as Lucy went through her own near-death experience—the show hasn’t done enough with the aftermath of that at all.
The Rookie is available to stream on Hulu.
