Peacock is spending more time in the true crime genre. This time, it’s a look at the Hare Krishna movement with Krishnas: Gurus. Karma. Murder.

There has been a lot of focus on cults when it comes to the crime genre. Not all religions are cults. Or at least, the setting of them up is not initially intended to be a cult, but it can turn out that way. That seems to be the case with the Hare Krishna movement, and that’s something the new Peacock series is looking into.

There are three episodes to this new true crime docuseries. Here’s a look at everything you need to know going into the show.

What is Krishnas: Gurus. Karma. Murder. about?

The series takes a look at how an Indian Swami came to America to offer a lost generation a message of love. It was the birth of the Krishna religion, and at first, nothing seemed all that wrong. It was after the Swami died that things changed.

Of course, the death of one leader brings about a new one. An American Guru decided to take over the religion and work on “finishing” the message that the Swami started. It doesn’t quite go the way of the initial intention.

The series takes a look at the Krishna movement. It’s a look at how the religion was corrupted by greed, lust, and vengeance. We take a look at the West Virginia police, the LAPD, and the FBI investigations into the movement and the American Guru who took it over. If you’ve always wondered about this movement, this is the series for you.

Krishnas: Guru. Karma. Murder. is streaming on Peacock on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
