The Bosch: Legacy Season 2 premiere opened with a special tribute to past co-stars Lance Reddick and Annie Wersching. Just what did they mean for the Bosch show?
Played by Annie Wersching, Julia Brasher was a major character in the first season of Bosch. A former attorney for her father’s civil law firm, she joined the LAPD at 34, making her an older rookie than others.
Julia and Bosch met at a crime scene and hit it off. The pair were soon in a relationship, one of Harry’s first in a while. However, things went wrong when Julia chased criminal Johnny Stokes into a garage and accidentally shot herself with her own service weapon.
While her character died in the books, in the series, Julia recovered, but her relationship with the titular character soon ended. Season 2 had her making only a few appearances with the explanation of her transferring to a different part of the LAPD. She made a cameo in Season 7 to help with a lawsuit and that was the last seen of her.
What happened to Annie Wersching from Bosch?
A veteran actress, Annie Wersching had already been known for roles in 24 before Bosch. After leaving the show, she made more appearances on shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Timeless, and Marvel’s Runaways.
Wersching had a memorable role as serial killer Rosiland Dyer on The Rookie and the Borg Queen on Star Trek: Picard. Sadly, Wersching was battling breast cancer and passed away in January 2023 at the age of 45.
It was a tough loss for the show’s cast and crew and shows why Wersching merited a tribute for the Season 2 premiere. She wasn’t the only one to get a tribute, and we’ll get into Lance Reddick’s role in another post. They both deserve their own mentions.
Bosch: Legacy Season 2 airs Fridays on Freevee.
