Blue Bloods Season 14 is not coming to CBS in November 2023

As much as we would love to see the show return already, Blue Bloods Season 14 is not on the list of CBS premieres in November 2023. When could we expect the season to premiere?

Fall TV has not looked the same at all in 2023. The strike action in the industry has changed everything, with the majority of scripted content not able to return. CBS completely changed its original plans during the summer.

Originally, Blue Bloods Season 14 was coming back in the fall. Even if it was November, it would still be the fall. However, in the summer, CBS had to rework everything, and now we’re definitely not getting the season in 2023.

When will Blue Bloods Season 14 premiere on CBS?

The WGA strike came to an end in October. That means we’ll see the show return soon, then, right? Sadly not. You see, it wasn’t just the writers on strike.

The actors joined the writers in the summer. That was the turning point for CBS as it realized the shows wouldn’t come back this fall. SAG-AFTRA remains on strike, which means even as the episodes are written, they can’t be filmed. So, the show remains in limbo when it comes to episode count and premiere date.

As of right now, the earliest we’re probably looking at shows returning is March 2024. That would work for a series like Blue Bloods where minimal graphics are needed in post-production. Some of the other shows may require extra time, but CBS is pretty good for procedurals, meaning we will likely see a spring start. This will mean a shorter than normal season, but at this point, we’ll take what we can get, right?
