With the SAG-AFTRA strike at an end, it’s time for productions to start back up. When could we see the SWAT Season 7 team back at work?

The actors are no longer on strike. A deal has been reached, and it’s time for everyone to get back to work. Of course, it’s not as simple as that. Not everything is going to return to production right away. The scripts are needed first. While the writers went back to work on a lot of productions in October, not all shows will have scripts ready yet.

Deadline has shared some of the production plans in motion right now. Sadly, SWAT Season 7 isn’t on the list of CBS shows that are planning to get straight back to work. That doesn’t mean it won’t be one of them, though.

When will SWAT Season 7 film?

The benefit of SWAT is that the show is pretty easy to film and get through post-production. That’s especially the case compared to the likes of Ghosts or even Quantum Leap over on NBC.

It all depends on whether the writers room has episodes ready to film this year. It is possible that SWAT Season 7 will be one of those shows held off a little, with filming starting in 2024. The broadcast networks will want to get some of their bigger shows out first. CBS will want to get the NCISes and the FBIs on the air as soon as they can to wrap them up in time for May finales and then get the schedule back to normal next season.

As for SWAT, it’s the final season. There isn’t as much concern with running this into the summer months, a little like what NBC did with The Blacklist‘s final season. This could allow for a delay in the return to production.
