When could Chicago PD Season 11 start production?
Now that the strike action has come to an end, eyes are on when production can start for our favorite shows. What about Chicago PD Season 11?
The strike action throughout the summer put everything on hold in the United States. The SAG strike is now at an end, and now eyes are on a move forward for all productions. This includes Chicago PD and other Dick Wolf shows.
The good news is that the Dick Wolf productions are set to be some of the first to restart production. We also have an idea as to the number of episodes that we can expect. With when the WGA strike ended, it looks like the changed plans in early fall are some that we can expect.
When will Chicago PD Season 11 filming start?
As of right now, there’s a need to focus on the scripts available and the pre-production process. It can take three to six weeks for this. The good news about a show like Chicago PD is that the three-week mark is likely to be possible.
Deadline reports that a Monday, Nov. 27 start date for filming is expected for Chicago PD Season 11 and other Dick Wolf shows. There would still be the Christmas and New Year break, as per the strike agreement, but then filming can restart as normal in January.
What does this mean for premieres and episode counts? We could see Season 11 have around 13 episodes. This should mean there’s no need to not have all characters in the episodes. That was a cost-cutting measure, and now there’s not as much need for that as the reduced episode count is already going to substantially cut costs.
A premiere could happen as early as mid-February at this point. Early March looks to be the target for a lot of networks, but the Dick Wolf productions are aiming for earlier.
Chicago PD is available to stream on Peacock.
