The Equalizer Season 4 can start production very soon, and it will premiere in February 2024. Just how many episodes could fit into the season?
With the SAG-AFTRA strike at an end, production on broadcast shows can finally start back up. That includes the Queen Latifah series, which left us on a major cliffhanger at the end of Season 3. We’re still waiting to see if everyone will survive their fates as McCall can only watch on.
The good news is we finally know when we’ll get to see the show return. CBS has set the premiere date as Sunday, Feb. 18. The episode will take its 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot again, which has worked out well for this series from the beginning. Now eyes are on what this means for the episode count.
The Equalizer Season 4 potential episode count
Deadline recently shared that the majority of shows will have between 10 and 13 episodes. There were some CBS shows confirmed with just 10 episodes, but The Equalizer wasn’t one of them. That means that it could have 13 episodes, but that’s not yet guaranteed. It’s going to depend on a few factors, including actor contracts and the writers who have crafted the storylines for the season.
The first season of The Equalizer got a mid-February start date. This was the show that took the post-Super Bowl spot in 2021, giving it the best start that it could get and setting the tone for the linear ratings. That season had 10 episodes, with the season finale airing in May.
Later seasons had 18 episodes, but they all started in the fall. It is possible that 18 episodes was the original plan, but we could see a move back to the first season of the series. This suggests a 10-episode storyline. Honestly, we’re just here for more Queen Latifah, however much screen time she gets.
The Equalizer is available to stream on Paramount+.
