Magnum PI just returned after a brief break, but is there a new episode on Wednesday, Nov. 22? If not, when does Season 5 return?

Since returning in October, Season 5, Part 2 of the popular show has been doing well. It is a bit bittersweet for fans as these will be the last episodes of the series before its cancellation.

The show had to take a week off on Wednesday, Nov. 8 due to NBC’s coverage of the Republican Primary Debate. It returned on Wednesday, Nov. 15 and seemed set for more action but is now already taking two weeks off.

This does fit a bit as traditionally, networks don’t air new fare on Thanksgiving week. Given that NBC isn’t expected to have new episodes of its regular series until January 2024 at the earliest, it’s logical they’re holding off on Magnum PI, with the series finale likely coming in 2024.

So for Wednesday, Nov. 22, NBC will air Countdown to Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a special looking into what creates the annual event. That will be followed by the two-hour Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving special, the usual compilation of holiday-themed sketches from the series.

When does Magnum PI Season 5 return?

NBC hasn’t announced what will air on Wednesday, Nov. 29. It has confirmed that the next Magnum PI episode will be on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

The preview shows Magnum having to work with a rival PI, played by comedian Jon Lovitz, on a case that goes haywire. That will be leading into the final four episodes of the series as NBC looks to send it off well.

So fans can take a Thanksgiving break from the show until December as Magnum PI Season 5 rolls back with more fun there.
