The broadcast networks are setting out some plans for the return of their shows. That will include some episode counts for the current seasons. How many episodes could be in Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2?

Eyes are now on the return of our favorite shows. With the SAG-AFTRA strike at an end, production can start up very soon. That’s leading to shows returning in January and February 2024.

FOX is yet to announce premiere dates, at the time of writing this. However, we’re looking at mid-February, which would match CBS and ABC. What does that mean for the episode counts of shows? We take a look at the potential episode count for Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 potential episode count

Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but we’re looking at between 10 and 13 episodes for the majority of shows. This includes the big ones like NCIS and Chicago PD. The networks don’t have enough time to bring us full seasons, especially with the idea of wrapping the seasons up in May and starting the 2024–2025 season as normal in the fall.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 1 had 10 episodes. This was a good amount for a midseason show, and it certainly delivered on the season-long storyline about who Keith really was and what had happened to the real Keith.

We could see the second season get around the same amount of episodes. The overall show is more of a procedural, so the episode count doesn’t matter too much there. We get the standalone cases of the missing people. The main problem with shorter seasons is less time for character development in the main cast. While the first season was focused a lot on Keith, the second season needs to delve more into other characters and their backstories, including the reasons they wanted to work in the search for missing people in the first place.
