How many episodes will be in Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2?
Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 has been delayed by the dual strikes this summer. Has that affected the episode count for the season?
Eyes have been on our favorite crime dramas, and Criminal Minds: Evolution is certainly one of them. The series was one of many affected by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes this summer. The good news is that it seems to be one that is least affected in terms of storyline and episode count.
A lot of broadcast networks are reducing their episode counts for the season. Shows like NCIS, FBI, and Chicago PD will now be cut shorter than originally planned with somewhere between 10 and 13 episodes. Really, only the shows initlaly held for the midseason, such as Law & Order: Organized Crime, won’t be heavily affected as they were already going to have shorter episode counts.
What about Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2? Will the episode count change due to the delay in filming? There is some great news for fans of this series.
Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 will get 10 episodes
The original plan was for the second season to get 10 episodes, matching the first season. Well, the strike delays haven’t changed that plan. Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 will still get 10 episodes.
It’s not clear if this season will be split in two parts with a mini hiatus. This could depend on the timing. The first season premiered at Thanksgiving last year and there was a mini winter break with the second half of the season returning in January. Fans didn’t feel too weird about this as we’re so used to a winter break for the show when it was on broadcast anyway.
The benefit of Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 is that it will remain on streaming. This means the delays in production don’t mean a shorter episode count is needed. There isn’t really a break needed, either. So we could see all 10 episodes back to back once the show is able to premiere.
Criminal Minds: Evolution is available to stream on Paramount+.
