While we know Blue Bloods Season 14 is still happening, there has been some disappointing news about it. Here’s what we know about the season.

There is some good and bad news when it comes to Blue Bloods Season 14. The great news is that we finally have some updates now that both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are over. The season has a premiere date!

Of course, the good news comes with some bad news. We’ll get into that and more with everything we know about the upcoming season of the long-running CBS drama.

When will Blue Bloods Season 14 premiere on CBS?

CBS has set the return dates for the majority of its shows. We’ll see the shows return after the Super Bowl, including Blue Bloods. The 14th season premieres on Friday, Feb. 16.

As has been the case for the last few years, the show will take the last slot of the night. This isn’t the death slot anymore, just looking at the linear ratings.

If you do happen to miss the episode, you’ll be able to stream it the following day on Paramount+.

Is Season 14 of Blue Bloods the last?

There was some bad news that came out recently. Deadline confirms that Season 14 is going to be the last of the series. However, it’s not going to end in May. The final season is being split into two parts, with the final episodes airing in fall 2024.

How many episodes are in Blue Bloods Season 14?

When confirming that this season would be the last, we also found out the episode count. The season as a whole will have 18 episodes. This is why the show will be split in two, as it’s going to be impossible to add 18 episodes to the current TV season.

We’ll get 10 episodes starting in February. That will take us to the May finales.

Then the remaining eight episodes will premiere in fall 2024.

Who will return for the final season of Blue Bloods?

We do expect to see all the current main characters to return to the series. Yes, Tom Selleck is sure to be back. The cast did agree to take a pay cut to be able to continue the story. The entire main cast was there to the end, and they made that promise to each other.

We will see:

  • Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan
  • Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan
  • Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan-Boyle
  • Will Estes as Jamie Reagan
  • Len Cariou as Henry Reagan
  • Marisa Ramirez as Maria Baez
  • Vanessa Ray as Eddie Janko

Of course, Treat Williams will not return to the series as the actor died earlier this year. We do expect to see some sort of memorial for his character Lenny Ross.

What to expect in Blue Bloods Season 14

As this is the final season, we’re sure to see a lot of character storylines get wrapped up. We’ll see where they are going next. Could it be that Frank finally retires from the force? Is it time for someone new to take that spot? Maybe Danny or even Baez could end up in that position at some point?

Of course, something that we need to see are more family dinners. This show is sure to end with a final Reagan family dinner with everyone around the table.

As a procedural, there are plenty of storylines that could happen. We’ll know more as the season gets closer to starting up.

Blue Bloods is available to stream on Paramount+ if you need to catch up.
