We know that Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 is happening, and it will arrive in 2024. Here are all the details we have so far.
Our eyes have been on our favorite shows all summer. The problem has been the strike action going on. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA unions went on strike, but those strikes have now come to an end. It’s time for some news to happen about our favorite shows, including Alert: Missing Persons Unit.
The FOX drama was renewed for a second season. We will get new episodes in 2024, but how long do we need to wait for them? Here’s everything we know about the release of the season.
When will Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 premiere on FOX?
FOX has opted for a slightly later return with its scripted shows than other networks. We won’t get to see Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 until Tuesday, March 5. It will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with The Cleaning Lady acting as the lead-in for the show.
Tuesday is a tricky night for FOX. In fact, this timeslot is a concerning one as the show will go up against FBI: International on CBS and The Rookie on ABC. Episodes will be on Hulu the following day to play catch-up.
How many episodes are in Alert Season 2?
FOX hasn’t confirmed episode counts for its shows just yet. We’re looking at between 10 and 13 episodes for the majority of shows. This series had 10 episodes in the first season, and that worked pretty well for the storytelling. There’s a chance that we’ll see 10 episodes in Season 2, too.
Who will return in Season 2 of Alert: Missing Persons Unit?
We’re expecting to see the majority of the main cast back for the second season. That will include:
- Scott Caan as Jason Grant
- Dania Ramirez as Nikki Batista
- Fivel Stewart as Sydney
- Ryan Broussard as Mike
- Adeola Role as Kemi
- Petey Gibson as C
We may see Graham Verchere back in the form of flashbacks. He played “Keith,” the boy pretending to be Jason and Nikki’s long-missing son. It turned out that he was just pretending, and in the end, he was killed.
Jason and Nikki have now learned what happened to their son. Their daughter Sydney knew all along, and now the family will need to heal from all the secrets that have been kept over the years.
What to expect in Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2
There were a lot of personal storylines looked into throughout the 10-episode first season, and we need to keep exploring them. Jason and Nikki seemed to gain some sort of closure at the end of the first season finding out that Keith wasn’t Keith. They now know that he likely drowned in the lake, and they’ll likely spend the second season finding his body.
Meanwhile, we learned that Kemi had a dark storyline that involved her being held for ransom. She learned that her dad chose not to pay that ransom, and the second season should spend some time exploring how that affects her. I’d also love to see more of her spiritual beliefs throughout the second season.
Then there’s Mike. He has a relationship with Nikki and doesn’t like Jason, but the three of them need to find a way of getting along. Then there’s Mike’s backstory involving his own father, which needs to be further explored. We only got one episode on that in the first season, and we definitely need more.
Finally, we need to see how Sydney’s secrets coming out affect her relationship with her parents. Had she told Nikki and Jason the truth in the first place, so much could have been different. She’ll need to deal with all of that throughout the second season.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit is available to stream on Hulu.
