Fans of The Spencer Sisters will have to wait longer for the Season 1 finale of the Canadian mystery series. Why did the CW delay the planned finale by a week, and when can you see it?
The Spencer Sisters has been on a steady roll of episodes since premiering in October. The show, about a mother and daughter (Lea Thompson and Stacey Farber) who run a detective agency, had aired in Canada in early 2023 and was picked up by the CW.
The 10-episode season was set to wrap up on Wednesday, Dec. 6. However, The CW decided instead to carry coverage of the 4th Republican Presidential Primary Debate. It seemed an odd choice, but it did lead to good ratings of over two million viewers. It is notable that for the first time, the CW has chosen a political debate like this for prime-time programming.
The network is still expected to begin airing new shows in early 2024 but has still acquired Canadian series Family Law and Wild Cards to fill up airtime before programs like Walker can return. So when does The Spencer Sisters finale air?
When will The Spencer Sisters Season 1 finale now air on The CW?
The Spencer Sisters Season 1 finale will now air Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 9/8c, following the Season 1 finale of the dramedy Sullivan’s Crossing.
Titled “The Runaway’s Regret,” the plotline has Victoria and Darby uniting when Victoria’s boyfriend Billy is kidnapped. That leads to secrets not just in his own life but between the mother and daughter.
There’s still no word yet if The Spencer Sisters will get a second season or not. But the one-week delay should make the finale more impactful to wrap up the fun first year.
The Spencer Sisters Season 1 finale airs on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 9/8c on The CW.
