Air travel isn’t fun for a lot of people. It’s even worse when you hit a spot of turbulence or something happens on the runway. For Donnie Wahlberg, there was a scary moment that led to the plane he was to make an emergency landing.
The good news is that the Blue Bloods is perfectly fine. After all, he shared about the experience and praised the plane’s pilots for their work to land safely.
What happened to the plane Donnie Wahlberg was on?
Walhberg took to Instagram Stories to explain the situation, immediately praising “CJ and Matthew,” the plane’s pilots, for their work. It turns out that the plane had to land in White Plains rather than New Jersey, according to Soaps.com.
What was the issue? Bad weather. It was so bad that it wasn’t safe to land the plane at the original location. Sure, it’s an inconvenience, but it’s better than the alternative.
Why was Donnie in the air? This will be linked to filming of Blue Bloods Season 14. The actor, who plays Danny Raegan on the series, confirmed that filming had started back in November. He posted an Instagram post of him back on set. However, he lives in Illinois with his wife, Jenny McCarthy, while the series films in New York. It’s not unreasonable for him to fly back and forth when he can.
The sad news for fans is that Blue Bloods Season 14 is going to be the last. The season will be split in two parts, with the first 10 episodes beginning in February 2024. Then there will be a summer break before the remaining eight episodes air in fall 2024.
Blue Bloods Season 14 premieres on Friday, Feb. 18 at 10/9c on CBS.
