Found is one of the best new shows across all network TV in 2023. Will we get to see more of the series? Is this a show renewed or canceled?
While fall 2023 was not normal for TV scheduled, NBC did bring us some new episodes of scripted shows. Two of those shows were brand new, and they were great additions to the lineup. Found was one of them, bringing us stories of missing people, sociopaths with intriguing back stories, and a lead character with questionable morals as she searches for answers and revenge.
Found follows a team of individuals who look for missing people. These tend to be people who the police don’t bother searching for. They are people of color, drug addicts, prostitutes, and others who aren’t as “important” in the eyes of the police. Gabi and her team use any means possible to get to the bottom of the case and return people home.
Found Season 2 is officially happening
While there aren’t many shows airing, NBC has had enough episodes of Found to make a decision about it. Yes, this show is getting a second season. The renewal came with the news that fellow freshman series The Irrational is also renewed.
It’s not clear when we’ll see the second season just yet. While Found has performed well in the fall schedule, it is a very different fall schedule compared to normal. NBC will likely bring the show back in fall 2024, though.
How many episodes will the second season get? The first season had 13 episodes, which is normal for a first-season series. It was supposed to be a midseason show in the 2022–2023 season but was pushed to fall 2023 as it was clearer that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes would happen. So, we could see more episodes in the second season.
However, the cost of TV show production has increased considerably over recent years. It’s possible that NBC will look to save money on shows by reducing episode counts, keeping this show at 13 episodes.
Found is available to stream on Peacock.
