Breaking Bad alum cast as Stabler’s brother on Law & Order: Organized Crime
Law & Order: Organized Crime fans will meet Stabler’s brothers in Season 4 and now we know who will play one of them! Find out more about Dean Norris’s role here!
Fans of Law & Order: SVU know that Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) comes from a large family, but we’ve yet to meet any of his siblings. That’s now going to happen as Dean Norris has been cast as Randall Stabler for Season 4 of the series.
Per TVLine, Randall is Elliot’s older brother, who left the family when young and is now a successful real estate developer. He and Elliot have some tensions stemming from an event involving their father, who fans know was a semi-corrupt cop.
Season 4 will also introduce younger brother Joe Jr., who spent time in the army and is now working for a British wine merchant. So far, that role hasn’t been cast.
Norris shared the news on his Instagram page with the caption “very excited to be working with my old bud, Meloni. Gonna be a fun Winter Spring in NYC.”
Where you’ve seen Dean Norris before Law & Order: Organized Crime
With over a hundred TV credits to his name, it’s easier to list where you haven’t seen Dean Norris before on television. He’s probably best known for playing DEA agent Hank Schrader on the AMC hit Breaking Bad which earned him a Screen Actors Guild award for Best Television Drama Ensemble. Norris reprised the role in the prequel series Better Call Saul.
Norris also played mob boss Clay “Uncle Daddy” Husser on TNT’s Claws and a lead in the CBS sitcom The United States of Al. He and Meloni also co-starred in the 2014 film Small Time.
As it happens, Norris can count a Law & Order series among his numerous credits as he guest-starred in a 2011 episode of the short-lived Law & Order: LA spin-off. It’s little surprise he has earned a spot here as he can be believable as Elliot’s older brother and it should be great seeing them clash.
With one brother cast and another coming, it looks like Law & Order: Organized Crime is giving Stabler more family issues to make Season 4 more dramatic.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 premieres on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 10/9c on NBC.
