11 crime dramas canceled in 2023 we’re still salty about

NBC and FOX canceled crime shows

In some good news, FOX didn’t cancel any crime dramas that left us salty. There was the decision to end 911, but that show is moving to ABC, so it doesn’t count. That decision was all made behind the screens to avoid an uproar from fans.

It was NBC that made a decision that leaves us annoyed. Yes, it’s all about a show that it saved.

Magnum PI

Magnum PI Season 5, Part 2 is officially the last. We’ll get some episodes in 2024 (two to be exact), but that’s it. NBC opted not to renew the show just ahead of the cast options coming up for renewal.

The move to NBC was supposed to be great for the network’s ratings. Instead, the show had a lackluster performance, and that was arguably due to NBC’s scheduling decisions. It put the show on after reruns on a Thursday. Thursday nights could have been great if it was either the first show of the night or rolled in after The Blacklist.

As the SAG-AFTRA strike got closer, NBC decided not to put too much in the air for the series. It opted to end the series with the final 10 episodes that had already been produced. What will the series finale look like?
