The White Lotus Season 3 is definitely not coming in 2024
There are a few crime dramas that we would love to see back as soon as possible, and The White Lotus is one of them. Well, it’s bad news for The White Lotus Season 3.
The White Lotus isn’t a traditional crime drama. This is one of those shows that more of a character drama, but there’s a crime fused into it. Each season has started with the knowledge that at least one person died, and it looks like murder. We then go back in time to see how it all plays out.
It didn’t take long for HBO to renew the series for a third season. It is hugely popular for the network, so that’s not too surprising. The show was initially set to premiere its third season some time in 2024, but those plans have changed.
When Casey Bloys shared the HBO plan for the 2024 schedule, The White Lotus Season 3 was one of the shows missing from the list. What’s going on?
The White Lotus Season 3 was hit with production delays
This is one of those shows hit with delays due to the dual strike action. It’s not alone, either. Just Like That Season 3 and The Last of Us Season 2 are also officially pushed to the 2025 schedule.
There isn’t the time to get through filming and post-production for a 2024 release. HBO wants to make sure the quality of the content is still great while getting the shows to fans. The good news is the 2024 schedule is packed with some great releases, and not just House of the Dragon Season 2.
Fans will get to see True Detective Season 4 starring Jodie Foster. If you’re in the mood for a series that focuses on the toppling of a European regime (which is sure to bring some crime elements to the story) then you’ll be happy to hear that Kate Winslet will star in The Regime in 2024. The Jinx Part 2 will also drop for the true crime buffs out there.
So, while we have to wait for The White Lotus Season 3, there will still be plenty to watch.
