We’re just two episodes into 911: Nashville, and there’s already a life on the line. Of course, it’s the life of Chris O’Donnell’s Don Hart, but do we really believe that the show will write him out already?

Writing Don out at this point makes zero sense. He’s too connected to various characters in the series, and it would completely mess things up with the Ryan/Blue storyline. A major element of the soapy drama would be gone, and it doesn’t make sense to do that so early on.

That doesn’t mean we can’t have his life on the line to put other lives on the line, though. There is a lot going on in the new episode.

Ryan takes the lead in 911: Nashville season 1, episode 3

I’ll admit that Ryan took a turn in episode 2 that I didn’t expect. He spent the whole of the first episode being a whiny brat, but in the second episode, he accepted that Blue wasn’t the problem. After all, as Don points out to Blythe, it’s not Blue’s fault who his mom is. It looks like Ryan now agrees, especially seeing how Blue has stepped up.

I don’t think there’s any competition from Blue for much of it, either. His comments about doing housework really just puts the focus on where he’s come from and the upbringing that he’s had. He also just wants to know his dad’s side of the family. At the end of the episode, there was a sad look from Don, but he has to accept that Don was heavily concerned about Ryan’s life.

All of that seems to be forgotten, though, with the current emergency. Ryan and Blue could connect as they hope that Don makes it through, and then they’ll have to work together on a call that sees Ryan taking charge. He needs to help save multiple people, and that fire tornado is about to show up!

Dixie continues to be a problem

I can’t stand women like Dixie. They think they’re owed the world, when really, they have created every situation that they have ever sown. And here we have Dixie showing up in a wing of the hospital for family only causing issues for Blythe. Does she really think that’s going to help Don pull through, or does she genuinely only want the status of being with Don rather than Don himself?

Blythe wants to keep her focus on Don. She will have security remove Dixie if she needs to, just so that she can focus her strength on keeping it together for her son. She’s terrified, though, and she needs her prayers to be answered.
