A new preview for 911 was released and it is taking us on a ride! While we had an idea of what would happen when the second half of season 8 would premiere in March, now it’s certain that Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Maddie Buckley Han will go missing. Find out what to expect when 911 returns.
When season 8 went on break, we did get a peek at a short promo that showed Maddie possibly being kidnapped. Now a new, longer preview shows Athena investigating a possible serial killer. She finds zip ties, blood, and rope, all of the makings of a killer.
Somehow, Maddie is involved and is seen getting chloroformed before passing out. This is especially concerning as she just announced her pregnancy to her husband, Chimney (Kenny Choi), and younger brother, Buck (Oliver Stark).
The promo showed Chimney looking distraught as his fire captain, Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) tried to console him. We also caught a glimpse of a worried Buck and Hen Wilson (Aisha Hinds). Missing from the promo was Ryan Guzman’s Eddie Diaz, who announced in the midseason finale he was moving to Texas.
Where is Eddie in 911 season 8?
Is Eddie already in Texas when this is all going down or will we see him waiting for news on Maddie as well? Tim Minear would not reveal whether Eddie was permanently leaving to Entertainment Weekly, but he did confirm that the show’s return would “hit the ground really hard.”
It was announced that Hewitt was expected to be part of the I Know What You Did Last Summer movie that is due to be released this year. Of course, we don’t know if she has already filmed for that role or not so depending on what happens with Maddie, this could be a way to have Maddie incapacitated while Hewitt has other filming responsibilities.
Otherwise, we really hope Maddie will make it through this unscathed with her unborn child. Although if we get worried scenes of both Chimney and Buck out of this storyline, then we know both Choi and Stark will have us in our emotions as they worry over their missing loved ones.
We're also curious how this will affect their pregnancy journey if baby Han survives the ordeal as well. Maddie went through a serious bout of post partum depression after the birth of daughter Jee-Yun, so we hope the show will acknowledge how they will make sure Maddie is taken care of as long as everything turns out okay in the end.
We will keep you updated as we find out more news about 911 ahead of the ABC show’s spring premiere on Thursday, March 6 at 8/7c. For now, catch up on previous episodes on Paramount+.
