911 season 8, episode 6 will likely focus on Eddie's path to healing (Preview)

911 is back after taking a break last week for Halloween. We’re so excited to welcome the show back and see what is in store for the 118 and their loved ones. Based on the synopsis and preview photos, it appears that the episode will focus on storylines involving Eddie, and then Buck and Tommy. What can we expect from the Thursday, Nov. 7 episode?

In the promo for the episode, it looks like there will be a call back to “Eddie Begins,” where he went down a well to rescue a child and became trapped. This time, he won’t be able to fit down there, but it appears the team attempts to do so with the help of the boy's older brother.

This could bring up a lot of memories for Eddie, who is still reeling from his son, Christopher, being in Texas. He also hasn’t confronted his feelings about his wife Shannon, and the synopsis hints at memories being stirred up because of a 911 caller who is going through a divorce.

Right before her death, Eddie’s wife, Shannon, told him she wanted a divorce. Eddie had barely begun to process this before she died, and even though he’s only spoken to Bobby about it once, he never fully dealt with it. In fact, it appears that he has romanticized his relationship to the point he began seeing a doppelganger of said wife while dating someone else.

What to expect from Eddie's story line for 911 season 8, episode 6?

Hopefully this episode will begin the start of Eddie’s path to healing. He has grieved for so long that he hasn’t truly dealt with it the way he needs to, not just for himself, but also his relationship with his son. We’re looking forward to seeing how he begins to look forward for himself.

Even though we don’t have much to go on for other storylines, it also appears from photos we will have some sweet scenes between Buck and Tommy, who have been going strong since they began dating in season 7. 

This is the first relationship where we’ve seen Buck being fully invested in, since he was clearly not happy with his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Kelly, in season 5 and we barely got to see his relationship with Natalia at the end of season 6 before they broke up off screen.

We’re excited to see their relationship continue to unfold, and we’re sure the episode will give us some great material!

The new episode of 911 airs Thursday, Nov. 7 at 8/7c on ABC. You can watch it the next day on Hulu, in addition to past episodes.
