It’s that time of year when the TV shows start to go off the air for the holiday season. 911 season 9 is going off sooner than we would like, but it will also be back sooner than we’re used to.
It does mean that we won’t get any more new episodes of 911 in 2025. The series is now on its winter break, leaving us wondering about Hen’s fate for the rest of the year. However, the episode did end with some high notes, such as Chimney becoming the permanent Captain of the 118, and Harry getting a spot in the Fire Academy.
When will 911 season 9 return on ABC?
We’re used to seeing the series take a three-month break. In previous years, ABC has opted to hold back until March of the new year to return the Thursday shows, and, admittedly, we thought that was going to happen again. However, ABC announced its midseason returns, and we got some exciting news.
911 season 9 episode 8 will air on Thursday, Jan. 8. It will continue to take the 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot on ABC, as the show continues to perform well for the network.
This could come with some bad news, as there are only 18 episodes to the season — compared to the 20-22 that a lot of other shows get. This would usually mean some on-off weeks in the schedule, but 2026 is going to be a little different. With NBC airing the Winter Olympics, it’s possible that ABC will decide to take a break in the schedule around then so as not to compete. We could then have a strong run from March to May.
What should we expect in 911 season 9 episode 7?
When the series returns, we’ll get caught up on what Hen has learned after her full-body scan. Throughout the fall finale, she faced tremors and then collapsed, and she knows that this could be something serious. Because she didn’t want to tell anyone else, she ended up going back to the spa and paid cash for the full-body scan to get information about what was wrong with her.
Things aren’t looking good in the promo for 911 season 9 episode 7. It looks like she turns to Athena with her news, but she’s worried about what this means. Is it the end of her story? Is there something seriously wrong with Hen? There better not be, but now that the series has killed off Bobby, it’s hard to tell if this is going to be a temporary problem to solve or not.
911 season 9 returns on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 8/7c on ABC.
