Bell had to make a choice in Countdown season 1, episode 7, and it looked like he had chosen the DA. In the end, it was clear that he wasn’t the one to tip off the Russian company.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Countdown season 1, episode 7.

The new episode started with the entire task force on the back foot. Every lead they had turned out to be useless, and so it was back to the beginning. This led to looking at the ballistics from the dance hall, leading the group to a Russian company.

Great! Well, it should have been. When the task force and SWAT got to the Russian company, there was some surprising news. Someone had tipped off the group that the task force was coming, so only one person was there.

Bell didn’t tip anyone off in Countdown season 1, episode 7

Throughout the episode, there were questions about which side Bell would end up being on. The DA offered him support in his career if he worked with the DA, and it looked like he was considering it. Maybe he was, until he realized what the DA actually wanted.

This DA really wants information about the task force, and we don’t know why. It’s possible that he just wants to be a part of something big to help his own reelection. However, there’s also a chance that he is on the inside working with Volchek. Bell doesn’t know, so he’s decided that while he would love to boost his career, he’s not working against Blythe.

Meachum may have tipped someone off in Countdown

As soon as Meachum pulled a face when Volchek’s No. 1 showed up on the computer screen, I knew there was something. It’s clear that Meachum knows this man, although we don’t have the confirmation just yet.

If he does know him, he may want to get answers for himself. This may have led to Meachum being the one to tip off the Russian firm.

There is nobody else in the group to even consider going against Blythe. Nobody else has nothing to lose in the way that Meachum does with his tumor. Nor do they seem to have already worked undercover in a way that connects them to the Belarusians. If Meachum did tip off the Russian firm, it’s going to have been for a good reason. That is unless Meachum has tricked us all and has been working on the inside after all, although that doesn’t seem likely.
