Fans of NCIS are finally getting the podcast that’s long overdue!

NCIS is rolling on and building to the franchise’s 500th episode, a remarkable achievement for any TV series. As such, it’s a perfect time for the show to get an official podcast that fans will agree should have come around long ago!

Per an official press release, NCIS: Partners & Probies is a new interview-driven podcast that will drop new episodes every Tuesday.

Hosted by Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer) and Diona Reasonover (Kasie Hines), the podcast will offer not just recaps and behind the scenes stories of NCIS episodes but also some great guest stars talking on their own experience with the franchise.

“CBS today announced the expansion of its storytelling slate with the new podcast NCIS: Partners & Probies hosted by Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover. The series pulls back the curtain on the world of NCIS with revealing, heartfelt and often humorous conversations with cast, crew, creatives and real-world experts. Premiering Tuesday, March 3, new episodes will roll out weekly. Fans can listen to NCIS: Partners & Probies wherever podcasts are available and can watch full video episodes weekly on the NCIS YouTube channel. “

There are such podcasts around for various TV shows from HBO series like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. It seems surprising it’s taken so long for NCIS to join in, given the massive fan following it has. It’s also smart to balance the guests between the show’s stars and actual military and police figures who can share their own insight into the tales.

Besides the announcement, the press release also shared the list of the first four weeks worth of guests:

  • March 3: Brian Dietzen & Diona Reasonover (NCIS cast members)
  • March 10: Wilmer Valderrama (NCIS cast member)
  • March 17: Mariel Molino (NCIS: Origins cast member)
  • March 24: Frank Cardea & Steve Binder (previous and current NCIS showrunners)

According to the release, additional upcoming episodes will include Gary Cole (NCIS), Susan Bluestein (former NCIS casting director), Caleb Foote (NCIS: Orgins), Daniela Ruah (NCIS: Los Angeles), Don McGill (NCIS co-creator), Tyla Abercrumbie (NCIS: Orgins), Shea Buckner & Hanelle M. Culpepper (NCIS: Orgins directors), Joe Spano (NCIS), Sean Murray (NCIS), Adam Campbell (NCIS and NCIS: Orgins) and Mark Horowitz (NCIS executive producer).

The podcast is executive produced by Mike Benson and Issac Webster. Maggie Renshaw and RaaShauna Payne serve as producers. It’s fun to see the show won’t just focus on the main NCIS series but also Origins and even past shows like Los Angeles. Hopefully, they can work in more stars and creators to provide insight, including some former cast members to discuss their history.

Maybe they can have the NCIS: Hawaii guys talk on the show's sudden axing and what could have happened. Or speak on the future of the franchise and maybe even Mark Harmon dropping in for a chat. With hundreds of episodes, there's plenty of ground to cover.

This is going to become a must-watch listen for NCIS fans to get further behind-the-scenes tales of the episodes, the show, and its amazing legacy to be a great addition to the NCIS universe!

NCIS: Partners & Probies premieres Tuesday, March 3 on YouTube and other podcast outlets.
