It’s bad news for those ready for more from Parker and the team in NCIS season 22. The show is off the air tonight, Monday, March 10.
Usually, when the show is off the air, we get a rerun. That isn’t the case at all this week. However, it’s worth noting that NCIS: Origins will air a rerun at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
What’s on instead of NCIS tonight?
The first two hours of the night is taken up by a special. CBS will air Ringo and Friends at The Ryman, which is perfect for all the music fans out there. Of course, it’s not what we’re used to.
Having the special on this week makes sense, though. There are still more weeks to fill than episodes available to get the show to May for finale season. February and May are the two big months for the linear ratings tracking by Neilsen, known as the Sweeps, so it makes more sense to put on specials and reruns throughout March and April to help stretch the new episodes available.
This is all the break is about. We already know that NCIS and NCIS: Origins will be back for new seasons next TV season.

When will NCIS return with new episodes?
There is a bit of a wait for new episodes of the series. The following Monday, March 17, will see a string of reruns of all Monday night shows. The CBS schedule doesn’t go past that at the time of writing this, so it’s hard to tell if Monday, March 24 will see a new episode. It’s likely that this is when the series will return.
The NCIS: Origins break has been much longer than the NCIS one. This is because NCIS has 22 episodes this season compared to the 18 that NCIS: Origins got.
We’ll be sure to update as soon as CBS is clear about its March and April plan.
NCIS and NCIS: Origins are available to watch on Paramount+ if you want to catch an older episode.
