February is almost here, and many people will know that this is a big year. It’s the Winter Olympics, and that will disrupt the majority of TV shows, including Chicago PD.
Yes, Chicago PD is being pulled from the NBC schedule for a few weeks. NBC will air the Winter Olympic Games, and it can only air one thing at once. It means the regular TV schedule is heading on a break, but the big question for many is when that will be.

Here’s when Chicago PD goes on a break before the Winter Olympics
In some good news, we get one confirmed episode in February 2026. Chicago PD season 13 will air an episode on Wednesday, Feb. 4. While there are some Olympic Games happening on this night, NBC isn’t going heavy with the coverage until the Opening Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 6. However, there is some pre-coverage on the Thursday night, which means there won’t be episodes of Law & Order, SVU, or The Hunting Party.
We were hoping to see Chicago PD return the week after the Winter Olympics, but that isn’t going to be the case. The next new episode after the Winter Olympics will be on Wednesday, March 4. That means there is only one new episode next month.
In some good news, it means once the show returns there shouldn’t be too many more breaks. Usually, we see a couple of episodes and then a week off, then another couple of episodes, and then another week off to make sure there are enough episodes to fill the schedule until May. We may have one or two breaks once the show returns in March at the most.

It’s an exciting episode when Chicago PD returns
We already know what to expect when Chicago PD returns after the Winter Olympics. Wednesday, March 4 is the date of the One Chicago crossover, with Fire kicking things off.
While we don’t have too many details about what to expect in the emergency, it will pull all the teams from Fire, Med, and PD together, and as usual, Intelligence will end the night by wrapping up the criminal investigation.
This is set to be like previous One Chicago crossovers, which were more like a three-hour event. The teams from all three shows end up working together in the ways they’re needed, allowing them to interact with characters they may never have even met.
Chicago PD airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
