Wednesday nights are supposed to be about the entire One Chicago lineup, but we have some bad news. There isn’t a new episode of Chicago PD, or any of the other shows, tonight, Wednesday, May 28.
The previous episode left us with some major moments. Reid was taken down, but not in the way any of us really expected. With the way things ended, it shouldn’t be surprising that we won’t get a new episode this week, but it is disappointing for many.

Why isn’t there a new episode of Chicago PD on tonight?
With a stop-start schedule, it’s annoying to find out that there won’t be a new episode on. However, this isn’t an annoying mini break in the schedule. Instead, we have a long one. The previous episode was the Chicago PD season 12 finale, meaning that we are now entering the summer hiatus.
NBC will have reruns on this week, but we’re expecting the summer schedule soon. For tonight, you can tune into the seventh hour of the recent season, which saw Torres plagued with some recent decisions that he made, and we see Cook on an intense undercover assignment.

Chicago PD season 13 is happening, but when?
In some good news, there will be a new season to the series. After some tense negotiations to help cut the costs on the production of all three One Chicago shows, Chicago PD season 13 was confirmed. Now we just have to wait.
This is where we get more bad news, because we have to wait until at least late September 2025. NBC has confirmed that the series will be back in the fall, and it will continue to air on Wednesdays at 10/9c. However, NBC hasn’t set any premiere dates just yet, which isn’t that surprising when you consider that writing hasn’t even started yet.
We’re expecting late September, as that’s when NBC likes to premiere the fall shows. However, there have been times that we’ve had to wait until October or November due to events outside of Chicago PD’s control. We’ll know more around June or July when premiere dates tend to be set.
Chicago PD is currently available to stream on Peacock.
