After Chicago Fire started the emergency and Chicago Med saw an initial fight to save Trudy, Chicago PD season 12, episode 11 brought us closure to the story. Here’s a look at how the One Chicago 2025 crossover ended.
You can catch up on Part I and Part II of the crossover at Hidden Remote. I’m continuing the story here.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Chicago PD season 12, episode 11.
The episode picks up straight off the back of Voight figuring out that the young girl, Ellie, was the daughter of one of the suspects. However, she wouldn’t give up her address to help the passengers on the subway without seeing her mom first. Naturally, Dr. Charles was against this idea, but Voight made it clear that he was going to let Ellie see her mom so he could get answers.
Kidd and Ruzek start to run out of air in Chicago PD season 12, episode 11
Down on the subway, there’s a shock when someone sees movement outside the door of the car. Sure enough, there’s a man out there trapped under some of the rubble. Ruzek and the Morse Code Guy get him out, only for Ruzek to realize that he’s wearing one of the jump suits that the suspects were wearing. Ruzek is sure that he’s one of the guys that caused this.
However, there’s a much bigger issue. They’re running out of air.
Kidd tells Ruzek about all the symptoms of running out of air. Kidd needs to get a message to the top, which means everyone is going to learn that they’re running out of air. This naturally causes panic, but Ruzek has a way of keeping people calm for now. They just need to hope that Firehouse 51 can get down there. They only have a few hours left, though.

Intelligence gets to work to catch the suspects in the One Chicago 2025 crossover
Of course, while there is a big focus on getting people on the subway car out, Intelligence also needs to get to the bottom of the situation.
It sounds like it could be an inside job. However, it’s not the guy that was found outside the train.
Did we forget about the third suspect out there? Intelligence didn’t, and Atwater and Torres think they’ve got it. They and Voight head to station where they think they’ve found him. This is the guy that we saw at the hospital at the start of the Chicago Med part of the story.
The guy tries to run and ends up trying to jump from one rooftop to another. He ends up slipping and needs Voight to pull him up. It’s the perfect chance to get the guy to talk. However, just as it looks like the guy will talk, he pulls out his gun, Voight lets go, and he falls to the ground below. The lead is gone.
It turned out that he worked at the cancer center Margaret (Jane Doe) was treated. They were likely dating, and he wanted to help her get revenge for her medical issues. He knew all about Al Capone’s tunnels and used them.
Did Trudy survive in Chicago PD season 12, episode 11?
The big question for fans was whether Trudy would survive. Voight rushed in to learn from Mouch that while she was initially stable, she coded and that was the last Mouch heard. He panics as the doctors walk out.
Well, there’s good news by the end of the episode. The cold therapy works and Trudy survives.
The first thing Trudy wants to do when she wakes up is talk to Voight. She’s able to give some of the details of the offender she searched and tells him of the hotel key she found. It’s exactly what Voight needs to get one step closer to finding the offenders.
Once they get to the hotel, they’re able to find schematics and details. This could help link to the person on the inside. It was someone either military or police. Is it possible that Bates was the one on the inside? She certainly hates the “suits.”

A rescue mission through the tunnels
Pascal and Severide head to the tunnels as they find a way to get to the subway. Dr. Archer decides that he’s going with them. They’ll need a doctor down there to help. Mouch and Herrmann also head down with them. The tunnels may be unstable, but they need to get to everyone on the subway.
As the tunnel at the back end of the subway starts to collapse, there’s a rush to get everyone to another part of the subway.
I love that we see Pascal running into the action here. Herrmann was clearly feeling bad that he would need to sit on the sidelines while everyone else rushed into burning buildings, but Pascal shows that’s not necessarily the case. When it comes to the most dangerous situations, the Chief can lead by example. This is the job Herrmann can do.
Back on the subway, the young college kid shares that she knows enough Morse Code to know that the guy lied about the last message. It wasn’t to ask about the one with the medical condition. Is he the other suspect? Considering we know someone on the inside was either military or police, it would make sense then that he would know Morse Code.
When Morse Code guy (Duffy, but I’m going to keep calling him Morse Code guy) takes Kidd hostage, it looks like Ruzek will end up losing his man. Can Firehouse 51 get through the tunnel in time? They don’t need to. Kidd knows enough self-defense to get out of that situation, and then Firehouse 51 does get in and Severide jumps in.
In the fight, a gunshot goes off. Don’t worry; nobody important was killed. Just the bad guy!
Firehouse 51 gets everyone from the subway car out through the tunnel and to safety. It’s not all over, though. There is still the focus on figuring out who was behind it all.
And yes, it was Bates after all. While Morse Code guy knew the Morse Code, he wasn’t the guy on the inside. Voight worked out that it was Bates from the notes in the motel room. While she initially tried to deny it, she shared the bad news. She had the same cancer as Margaret and decided that she deserved the money.
With that, Bates is arrested. It’s all over, and after what she did, shooting Trudy in the back, Voight isn’t protecting her.
It’s a happy ending for everyone, except for the business guy who needed that hard drive back. Ruzek got the hard drive back at the end and handed it to Burgess. It now becomes evidence, and everything will now become public. Including all the names of the cancer patients.
