After Torres seemed to solve a case that solved his crisis of faith, it’s time to move back to an Atwater-focused storyline on Chicago PD season 13 episode 10. We’ll get to see Atwater go back undercover.
The show is still missing Patrick John Flueger, who took a personal leave of absence back in 2025. We know that he should be back soon, but it doesn’t look like that is the case in this episode. It’s sure going to be a huge moment when he does come back, especially since the series eventually wrote in that Ruzek is away handling a family emergency linked to his father.
Intelligence has certainly handled a number of cases well without him, but we’re excited to see him eventually return. For now, we’re focused on Atwater, and with some hope, that means focusing a little more on the friendship that he and Burgess have. One of the good things about Ruzek’s absence is that it means Atwater and Burgess have worked together more.
Atwater goes undercover on Chicago PD season 13 episode 11
We’ll get another episode of Atwater going undercover. He’s always so great when he does this, fully getting into the characters that he plays. There are times when people clock him as a cop, but it’s not all that common. He just has the attitude that gets some people to stop asking questions.
That’s surely what’s to come during Chicago PD season 13 episode 10. We’ll likely see him infiltrate the crew stealing cars, and it’s great to see Atwater get an episode that is outside of the drug busts or gangs. I have a feeling that this episode was originally or Ruzek to go undercover, as he’s usually the one who deals with this sort of case.

A rise in car jackings in Chicago
It looks like Voight is looking for any sort of case that Intelligence can bring in. Torres is the one who brings up the rise in car jackings in the promo, and we get to see that it’s a team that is holding up people to take the flashy cars on the market.
Atwater pushes his personal life aside as he goes under cover in the flashy high-stakes world of carjacking.
I’m surprised it’s flashy cars. To make it a little more realistic, we could see some SUVs get stolen. After all, insurance rates are going up because so many SUVs are being stolen right now! But, we have to go for a Fast & Furious vibe, right?
It looks like it’s going to be more of a palette cleanser of an episode after a couple of heavy ones. We’re not complaining, though, as we need a bit of breather after dealing with the Morgan murder, the Bell case, and Platt’s loss!
Chicago PD airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
