Monday nights are starting to get a little quiet, as TV shows start to come to an end. There is a season finale tonight, Monday, May 5, and you won’t want to miss it. There are other crime dramas that are more than worth checking out tonight, as well.
Of course, there’s still plenty to watch across broadcast, cable, and streaming. It can make it a little difficult to know what to watch and what to skip. That’s what we’re here for.
Just a note that when we say skip, we don’t necessarily mean not to watch at all. It just means to watch on streaming the following day.
3 crime dramas to watch and 1 to skip tonight, Monday, May 5
There isn’t much airing in the realm of crime dramas on normal broadcast networks to start the night. That’s what we’re used to now, though. So, it’s time to turn to cable.
Head over to HLN, formerly CNN Headline News, for the first hour of the night. There are reruns of the 1996 series Forensic Files, which sees police investigators turn to scientists to help solve crimes. This is a great look at how different departments need to work together to find the right clues to solve the cases. With two episodes running back to back (they’re 30-minute episodes), you get a great start to the night.
After that, switch over to CBS. The NCIS season 22 finale will air tonight, and this is a must-watch live. The episode brings us the Nexus Cartel and mob boss Carla Marino, as the two have some sort of dangerous connection to each other. Mixed with the theft of nuclear material, the team has their work cut out for them.
For the final hour of the night, turn to BET for My True Crime Story. In the hour before, the series premiere will air, but the second episode of the night is the story of Candice Martinez, who moved from Sante Fe to Northern Virginia in a chance to escape the rough life she once had. Of course, it’s not all that easy to escape the past, and when she falls for a new guy, she finds herself pulled into a life of robbing banks, with their love story turning into a real Bonnie & Clyde story.
What about the show to skip? It has to be Paradise, as that is already on Hulu. You can binge-watch the entire first season. However, if you choose to watch it on ABC, we’ve got to Xavier facing the repercussions of his investigation, and he’s not all that sure what to do about them. It’s also time to find out a little more about Cal’s final moments, which could help to unravel a few more mysteries.
