Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 will premiere on Paramount+ in May. We even have some details of what to expect following the twisted turn of events at the end of the second season. This will be the 18th season of Criminal Minds as a whole when you include the CBS episodes considering this is a revival and not a spin-off.
When will Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 premiere?
Deadline tells us to set Thursday, May 8 in our diaries. That is when the series will make its return for its third season. It hasn’t been that much of a wait since the second season. In fact, it’s been less than a year, showing what is possible despite the series being on a streaming channel.
Episodes will air weekly on Thursdays on Paramount+. It’s not clear from the publication as to whether the premiere will be just one or two episodes. Some streamers drop two or three episodes at first and then weekly releases. This is something we’ll keep an eye on.
What to expect in Criminal Minds season 17
The new season will pick up six months after the attack on Voit. We saw him attacked after he was moved to Gen Pop in the season 2 finale. While the series left his life on the line, it’s clear from the details of the third season that he’ll make it out alive. He will work with the BAU, but it’s going to be for his own personal gain.
Voit’s followers on the Dark Web are growing restless. They will start attacking innocent people, and that leads to the BAU being pulled into various cases around the country. Of course, the best way to get to Voit’s followers is via Voit himself, but he’s not exactly going to want people to stop what they’re doing.
Jade wasn’t mentioned in the details for the new season. After realizing that she had been manipulated and lied to, she ended up turning herself into the BAU and it looked like she was cooperating. It would be great to see whether she continues to do that, and whether there is hope for rehabilitation.
