How far are people willing to go to protect their reputation? In the case of Elsbeth season 2, episode 4, it’s clearly as far as murder.
During the Halloween-themed episode, Elsbeth spent the night trying to see if a murderer really was a murderer. This was an interesting twist on the usual way the story plays out, as we learned the story as Mac did.
Now it’s back to the “howdunit” form of storytelling. We’ll get to see Retta guest star, and her character tells us how far people are willing to go to protect their reputation. Yes, some people are finding the “howdunit” form of storytelling less suspenseful, but this is perfect for those who love Columbo and Poker Face.
Retta is the murderer in Elsbeth season 2, episode 4
The promo is keeping nothing quiet about who murdered the victim in this episode. Retta’s character, Margo Clarke, did it. We even have the why in the synopsis.
Margo is a matchmaker with some great success. However, it looks like her latest match could turn problematic. The husband has some secrets, and she needs to make sure her client doesn’t find out about them. What better option than to murder the man and dump his body in the river?
The episode picks up with the husband going missing. Did this matchmaker really think that people wouldn’t go looking for him? Of course, Elsbeth is on this case, along with Captain Wagner. They know that there’s something fishy going on, and they need to get to the bottom of it.
Check out the promo and synopsis for Elsbeth season 2, episode 4:
"Things turn deadly when elite matchmaker Margo Clarke (Retta) goes to extreme lengths to keep her socialite client from finding out the truth about her perfect new husband. When the husband goes missing, Captain Wagner assigns Elsbeth and Kaya to investigate."
Elsbeth airs on Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
