It’s become tradition for a Harlan Coben series to drop on Netflix on New Year’s Day, and 2026 is no different. Run Away is the latest release, and this one is packed with twists, turns, and juicy drama.
As with other Coben shows, the series is based on the novel of the same name. It follows a young woman, Paige, who is addicted to drugs and stuck with an abusive boyfriend. When she runs away, a dad does what he can to find her, but there is far more to the mystery. This is not a series you’ll want to skip over if you’re a crime drama fan, especially if you’ve loved the previous Coben adaptations on Netflix.
When is Run Away on Netflix?
You can watch all eight episodes of Run Away right now. The series dropped this morning, New Year’s Day, at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. So, yes, it’s ready for your binge-watch.
Like all other Coben shows, such as Fool Me Once and Safe, the series will be available to stream on Netflix whenever you want. It’s highly unlikely that it’s going anywhere considering how popular these adaptations have become for the streamer.
What is Run Away about?
The trailer for the series tells us a lot about what to expect — much more than the synopsis for the show. James Nesbitt plays a father who is desperate to find his daughter. However, he’s pulled into a deeper mystery.
You see, when he’s at the park one day, he just sees a woman. She’s just a stick of the daughter that he used to know, but he knows that she’s his Paige. However, as she runs and he follows, he is pulled into a much bigger mystery.
When her boyfriend turns up dead, all eyes are on Simon as the murderer. But what if someone else did it? Of course, we know Coben shows, and quite often, the killer is staring at us in the face. What if he did do it, and now he needs to cover his tracks?

James Nesbitt takes on the role of Simon Greene, the father looking for his daughter. Ellie de Lange plays Paige, his daughter who goes to university and then ends up stuck in a world of drug addiction and abuse. Alfred Enoch plays Isaac Fagbenle, a cop looking into the murder of Paige’s daughter, and Minnie Driver takes on the role of Ingrid Greene, Paige’s mom.
