When CBS announced it was canceling FBI: Most Wanted after six seasons, it came with the reminder that some episodes still needed to film. This meant being able to close off some of the storylines for characters, and it looks like the series has the perfect ending for Remy Scott.
Caution: This post contains some minor SPOILERS for FBI: Most Wanted season 6, episode 16
After winding down the case, Remy called Abby over to see his new project. He’s become an investor of a dive bar, and he was sharing some of the ideas that he had for the place. Abby quickly vetoed some of the ideas, sharing that the focus needs to be on the natural woodwork around the place.
This is when Remy suggested that the two work on this bar together. They can stop their long distance relationship and move forward in life together. After all, the commitment of a “real” relationship isn’t as scary to the two of them as they once thought it might be.
Remy Scott got the answers he needed when joining the FBI
We learned that Remy Scott’s main reason to join the FBI was to get answers about his brother. He knew that something was off about his brother’s death, and he needed to get to the bottom of it. That came to a close at the end of FBI: Most Wanted season 4, and it set off a question of whether he got into law enforcement for the right reason.
There were questions about whether Remy would leave the agency after that. In the end, he stuck around and continued to help bring justice for other people. That doesn’t mean it’s what he wants to do for the rest of his life though. We change what we want in life as we get older, and there’s nothing wrong with Remy deciding that he wants a slightly slower life right now.
Remy could end FBI: Most Wanted with retirement
People retire from government agencies like this at a younger age than people in regular jobs. This is due to the weight the job puts on the mind and body, so it wouldn’t too surprising for Remy to decide that he wants to retire from the FBI now.
It seems he has a plan for the future. It would be a great idea to see him ending this chapter of his life with the end of FBI: Most Wanted. This would allow him to pass on the leadership of the Fugitive Task Force to Barnes, who has been there from the beginning and deserves this promotion.
The series may not have planned for retirement with this bar storyline when it initially came up. Plenty of people in law enforcement have other businesses that they can run on the side. However, with the news that the series is ending, this investment business could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for closure to the series.
FBI: Most Wanted airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
