The FBI season 7 finale left a life on the line, but it didn't come direct from the attack in the episode. Who could potentially be leaving the series ahead of FBI season 8?
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for the FBI season 7 finale.
Throughout the FBI season 7 finale, the New York Field Office was locked out of its own doors. An attack on a secret FBI office led to the suspicion of a mole inside the FBI. That grew much bigger, as it was clear that someone (or some people) were working with a terrorist organization that may have likely been linked to the Chinese.
Jubal was the initial suspect considering he was the only survivor in the attack on the secret agency. As Director Reynolds was killed with an exploding phone, Assistant Director Keene stepped up as Acting Director, and he was quick to point the blame at the entire New York Field Office.

Isobel planted herself to help the team in the FBI season 7 finale
After realizing that Keene was the one working with the terrorists, Isobel decided that she could walk in and pretend to support the idea. It was enough to get a recording of Keene admitting to it, which could be used later, and force Keene's men into a trap.
We got to see the risks Isobel was willing to take for her team. While it all worked out, she admitted at the end of the episode that this was scary. The terrorist group, Forefront, hadn't been taken down, and it was clear that Keene wasn't the only person in the FBI willing to work with them. With so much international interference possibilities, the FBI would need to keep watching for threats.

Who may not make it in FBI season 8?
Everyone survived the gunfight, even Elise and Ian, who had clearly not been all that well trained in weapons. It looked like it would be a happy and strong ending for the team, and then came the reveal while Isobel gave her speech. As she struggled to get a few words out, she suddenly collapsed.
Maggie shared that there wasn't a pulse, as Jubal called for EMTs to get into the room. The big question is what's happened to Isobel.
This could have been linked to the explosion, as she was by Reynolds when his phone exploded. Isobel didn't get checked out, and there may have been some serious damage. Alternatively, Keene could have slipped something or someone within the FBI who was in support of Forefront may have done something. However, I'm going with it being something from the explosion.
Will Isobel be in FBI season 8? It's too early to tell right now, as this is going up just as the episode ends. We'll have to see if there are reports about actress Alana De La Garza leaving the series during the summer. Of course, this is a great cliffhanger to leave us on to make us watch the FBI season 8 premiere in the fall.
