A former foe from Maggie’s past came back for FBI season 8, episode 14, and it ended in such a way that will leave a long-lasting impact on the FBI agent. When Maggie’s estranged sister, Erin, was abducted, it was a race against time to find her before it was too late. Did Maggie make it in time?
The last time we saw Erin, she and Maggie had a falling-out, and since then, Erin has refused to speak to her. However, when Maggie finds out she has gone missing, she quickly works to find her. She learns from Erin’s roommate that she has been clean for three years and has a successful career.

The team searches for Maggie's sister, Erin, during a harrowing case
The team learns she had gone to meet a man named Martin Camerino for a date after meeting online. However, she never made it out of the park where the date was scheduled. But when they find Martin, he claims he never spoke to her before and admits he had stolen a vehicle around the time she was abducted. It turns out he was used as a catfish to lure Erin in.
With his alibi checked out, they look into the picture used for his profile to determine where it had come from. It had been taken at a halfway house, but he didn’t know who took it. The team uses a computer program to enhance the photo and check the reflection in the window behind him of the person who took the photo. The man in the reflection turned out to be Ray Distefano, the first person Maggie ever arrested.
He had appeared in a season 7 episode when Maggie needed to question him due to a copycat murder case. However, when she was unable to allow him to see his father before he passed away, it apparently caused a desire for revenge.
Having been released to a halfway house, he ended up communicating with Erin under the guise of also being an addict. She had opened up about how she felt about her sister and how she didn’t think she could stay sober and have Maggie in her life.
The revelation stung when Maggie found out, which was after Distefano managed to abduct her when they looked for him at his father’s brownstone. He took her to some cabins in the woods, where he claimed that he just wanted an apology for her lies. However, he didn’t feel she meant it until she begged him and showed how afraid she was for Erin.
It was a harrowing case, and despite Maggie’s attempts at escape, her efforts were in vain. After OA found them just as Maggie almost went over a cliff with Distefano, they found Erin deceased in the back of the killer’s van. This was a devastating moment for Maggie, and it will have ramifications as she moves forward. It also is arguably one of the show's most shocking deaths yet and proved that the series isn't afraid of taking bold approaches to storytelling.
FBI airs Mondays on CBS at 9/8c. Previous episodes are available on Paramount+.
