I sometimes have to wonder if making a creative decision is really for the right reason. The decision to let Katherine Renee Kane from FBI during season 7 seems to have turned out to be the worst decision. However, FBI season 8 will get a new main character, and she could end up becoming Scola’s new partner.
Law & Order: SVU star Juliana Aidén Martinez is migrating over to the other side of the Dick Wolf universe, according to Deadline. She will be a series regular, which certainly hints that she will be Scola’s new partner, especially since Emily Alabi isn’t sticking around in FBI season 8 full-time.

Who will Juliana Aidén Martinez play in FBI season 8?
So far, character details have been kept quiet, which is why we can’t really say that she will be Scola’s new partner. However, the writing does seem to be on the wall.
Alabi joined FBI season 7 after a revolving door of partners for the OG team member. It seemed like she was geling well with the team, but in the announcement of the cast change, we’ve learned that she is only going to be in a few episoedes of the new season to wrap up her storyline. This will leave the position of Scola’s partner open again.

Who did Juliana Aidén Martinez play in Law & Order: SVU?
Martinez joined Law & Order: SVU in season 26 as Detective Kate Silva. She worked homicide, but she wanted to join the SVU team. However, it was announced just as season 26 was coming to an end that she wouldn’t be sticking around for the next season — another creative decision within the world of Dick Wolf.
Could we end up seeing Martinez join the series as her SVU character? That is unlikely but not impossible. After all, FBI and Law & Order: SVU are in the same universe. The problem is that her Law & Order character is a detective, while in FBI, she would need to be an FBI agent.
We’ve seen characters from other Dick Wolf shows appear in other ones as new characters. Just look at how Chicago PD’s Jesse Lee Soffer played Jay Halstead in that show only to play Wes Mitchell in FBI: International. Likewise, FBI: International saw Colin Donnell come into the series but not as his Chicago Med character. That being said, there has been crossover before with Chicago PD’s Hailey Upton coming into FBI to work with OA on a case.
Hopefully, it won’t take too long to meet Martinez’s character, and hopefully, she does stick around in FBI season 8.
FBI season 8 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on CBS.
