FBI is taking a short break (but there are more episodes to come in 2025)

It’s that time of year when the TV shows go off the air, but some of them are only taking a short break due to a particular holiday. While the likes of High Potential and Chicago PD have gone on their winter breaks, FBI season 8 is only taking a short break for the week.

The bad news is FBI season 8 won’t air a new episode tonight, Monday, Nov. 24. The good news is that there are still more episodes before 2025 comes to an end.

FBI is taking a break for Thanksgiving (and a special)

Like most CBS shows this week, FBI season 8 is taking a break for the Thanksgiving holiday. CBS tends to do this, giving a full week off for most the shows, so people don’t have to make choices between TV shows and the holidays. This also helps with the filming schedule, as the cast and crew will take this time of year off.

For some shows, it means taking the rest of the year off. We’ve seen it with the likes of High Potential and Chicago PD. Both of those shows are now off the air until 2026, but that’s not the case for the CBS shows. There are still some episodes to come!

It's worth noting that Watson will still air a new episode. Another reason for this break is for the Everybody Loves Raymond special, which will run for 90 minutes. DMV and Watson are the two shows to air after that, which is a little questionable considering The Neighborhood and FBI are getting a break. Wouldn't it be best for all scripted shows to take a break?

FBI season 8 episode 7 will air next week

After the most recent episode, CBS aired a promo for FBI season 8 episode 7, making it clear that the show would be back “in two weeks.” This means the new episode will air on Monday, Dec. 1, and it’s not going to be the last episode of the year. We’ll have one more before the show goes on a rather lengthy hiatus due to the Winter Olympics in 2026.

The episode is going to be a big one, with Scola and Eva trapped in a prison infirmary with prisoners trying to get in to kill them. They’re there because of a building explosion in Brooklyn that was under the orders of a prisoner in the system, and they will need to get some answers. Maggie and OA will do whatever they can to get to their fellow agents.

While Jubal Valentine was absent in the most recent episode, there is great news. He’s back in FBI season 8 episode 7, as we can see from images and the promo. While Isobel is the only cast member not in the images, she does have a storyline in the synopsis, so it looks like all cast members are back for this episode.

FBI season 8 returns on Monday, Dec. 1 on CBS.
