As news of Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros. comes out, there is chatter of Warner Bros. content heading to Netflix. One of those is a crime drama that NBC really shouldn’t have canceled! Yes, we’re looking at Found.

One of the worst cancellations of 2025, Found focuses on a private company searching for missing people. They are usually the people the cops overlook, whether it’s due to race, disabilities, or lifestyle. However, Gabi and her team are not willing to let anyone go overlooked, and they work tirelessly to find people.

The series was canceled after two seasons, and it failed to find a streaming home. Had this deal between Netflix and Warner Bros. existed back in May, maybe there would have been a chance of the show being saved. However, we’ll take the move to Netflix, as it could offer a slim glimmer of hope in the new year.

Found is heading to Netflix

What’s on Netflix has learned that both seasons of Found will be available to stream on Netflix on Friday, Jan. 2. There are no promises of the show getting saved with this move, but of course, that will lead to the chatter of more episodes.

As of right now, it’s just a licensing deal for the 35 episodes of the series. After all, Netflix hasn’t quite acquired Warner Bros. just yet, which means it doesn’t own any of the content right now.

We have seen shows get a boost in interest due to a move to Netflix. Suits gained a revived interest when it arrived on Netflix, leading to NBC ordering a spinoff (which didn’t do as well, because it just wasn’t Suits). We also saw a boost for Outlander when it originally went to Netflix due to the streamer being much bigger and more popular than STARZ.

Found may not quite get a second life

While the move to Netflix is great, I do have to be realistic when it comes to Found being saved. There is a lot going against the idea of the show being revived, with the main one being that cast options came to an end, meaning the stars were free to look for other work.

That being said, everyone wanted the series to keep going, knowing that it’s an important series and a well-written one on top of that. So, that’s why I say that while the chance is very slim, it’s there. Maybe Netflix realizes just what NBC let slip through its fingers — and even what it let slip through its fingers when it didn’t jump on the chance of landing Found.

We can hope, right? For now, Found is being licensed on Netflix, but maybe this could open the doors for the best show of the last two years to be saved.

Found is currently available to stream on Peacock but will go to Netflix on Friday, Jan. 2.
