Found season 2, episode 4 recap and review: "Missing While Perfect"
Lacey is out of the hospital in Found season 2, episode 4. Of course, now the focus is on whether the M&A Team will stay together.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Found season 2, episode 4.
Lacey’s hand twitched at the end of the previous episode to let us know that she was alive. So, it wasn’t surprising to see that she was out of the hospital at the start of the new episode. Found is wasting no time in getting the gang back together, but they’re not all on the same page.
It’s hard to discuss the full situation, though. Lacey doesn’t remember what Gabi confessed before she was taken, and a young boy turns up looking for help because his parents have gone missing. This is a case that gets personal for Trent, while also putting Trent potentially in danger.
A personal case for Trent in Found season 2, episode 4
Let’s start with the case. It involved a missing couple, and Gabi needed to initially treat it as a potential abduction. However, Trent could tell that there was more to this, and when he brought in the wife’s boss to discuss a potential affair, he realized that this was a domestic violence situation.
That made him turn. He needed to find where the two were, and he also knew that Gabi was the one who could help get to the bottom of this. Gabi was a survivor, and she did what she needed to do to keep herself safe. With all this, Gabi was able to figure out that it wasn’t the husband who had harmed the wife. The wife had taken her power back and was holding the husband somewhere.
Why was this such an important case for Trent, though? His sister had been through this. Trent tried everything to stop his brother-in-law from hurting his sister, and I honestly thought that we were going to find out that it was all too late. However, he did share that his sister finally got the courage to leave and get him put behind bars. Trent will now do what it takes to save others in these situations.
Have we hit a turning point? Does Trent now understand why Gabi did what she did? It doesn’t make it easier to forgive or fully accept, but he understands that she was doing it to take her power back. And I think if Gabi had killed Sir, Trent would have backed her up. It was holding his hostage and using him to help solve cases that led to him turning his back on her.
In the end, Gabi and Trent find the couple. The wife was going to be arrested considering what she did, but her son went to see his dad and called him out on everything. He would never allow himself to be like his dad, and he made it clear that his dad had lost him. In the end, the husband confessed to being the one to beat his wife and charges were dropped.
Lacey remembers everything
Meanwhile, we had the elephant in the room to address. How would Lacey react once she remembered what Gabi had confessed.
At first, everyone walked on eggshells around her. They continued to help save a life, which I think hinted at what was going to happen in the end. Margaret and Zeke could have turned their backs completely on gabi at this point. They could have worked together to try to find Lacey, but they still worked with Gabi. They even helped to save others in the process.
Lacey actually remembers something when she sees that Sir followed Trent. No, Sir didn’t end up trying to kill Trent. Instead, he wrote a letter for Gabi and left. But it was seeing the footage of Sir following Trent that brought a lot back for Lacey. She remembered the confession, but she didn’t say anything.
While she doesn’t forgive Gabi, she knows that what Gabi did shouldn’t outweigh the calling that they all have. They need to stick together to save people. This is their calling. Maybe they will all come together to oust Gabi at some point, but for now, they are sticking together. This time, it’s Lacey bringing them back together, and I love the way this changed. I did figure that it would be saving people that would keep the M&A Team together.
There is the end part for Margaret. She wants to go to the basement where Sir was kept to use her Margaret Vision. However, she becomes overwhelmed and leaves. What did she see that made her leave so abruptly?
What is Sir’s plan in Found?
We know that Sir’s endgame is Gabi. That’s always been the case, and he’s picking up that plan now that he’s out.
During the episode, he speaks Dutch. He’s buying a place and he talks about how his wife is an agoraphobe. It’s clear that this is setting up a story for him to be able to hold her hostage in the house in another country. This makes it harder for anyone to find her, and people won’t question why they never see his wife.
Sir continues to show us that he is a step ahead. He will find a way to get Gabi again, and he’s stopping at nothing to do that. While we don’t get as many scenes with Sir and Gabi together this season, the tension between them hasn’t stopped. Sir isn’t going to be caught easily, but will he manage to get Gabi on a plane?
