Found season 2, episode 7 recap and review: "Missing While Hated"
The M&A Team has to figure out what’s going on with a non-binary journalist who goes missing in Found season 2, episode 7. However, there is much more to take in at the end.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Found season 2, episode 7.
The case itself is a fairly uncomplicated one. It all starts with Gabi and the team getting a man come in to ask for help, and they get to work on the case. It ends up being linked to a story that someone didn’t want to get out.
This is a story that should have been important with how topical it is. And yet, it just seemed to be a small part of the overall episode. The focus is on the various members of the M&A team, and it’s a shame. I do wish that this storyline could have been much bigger for the overall episode as it needs to be right now.
Gabi’s past further explored in Found
Up to this point in Found season 2, the flashbacks have been focused on Lacey/Bella. We got to see what it was like for Bella after being captured by Sir, and we also get to see that Bella was always the way in for Sir to find Gabi again.
However, this episode changed the focus. We got to see Gabi as she got ready to celebrate her mom’s memory once again. This was something she didn’t get to do the year before, not wanting to let Sir know that the day was important. We get to see just how smart and in-tune she was back then with Sir’s mindset.
It goes wrong, though. Her dad turns up and wants to leave. He’s been drinking and has clearly forgotten about what the day is. This is where we see that fracture between Gabi and her dad form, and we also see just why Bella and Gabi became so close. Gabi’s mom offers Gabi a place to stay when her dad needs to go into rehab. I’m curious why Sir didn’t just attack again right there and then again. This better be explored.
Gabi gets the M&A Team to work alone in Found season 2, episode 7
Something that was a big change in this episode was Gabi taking a step back. She knows that eventually she will go to prison. She is coming to terms with that, and she needs to make sure her team is ready for it as well. More importantly, she needs to make sure the firm is ready for it.
We see Gabi make it clear that they need to know how to work the case alone. They will need to do this in the future if they want to keep helping people. She won’t be able to help from the inside—well, maybe she sort of could but not in the way that she does now. Gabi wants to make sure that her baby is left in good hands.
She does get to see how much being part of the M&A team is doing to the others, though. Dahn’s husband, Ethan, comes to the firm to drop off lunch. Yet again, Dahn has canceled on him because of the team. It’s clear that he’s resentful toward Gabi for this, but this is the wrong person to be resentful toward. It’s not Gabi’s fault that Dahn forgets about his husband.
This is something Ethan and Dahn need to discuss. As a therapist, you would have thought that Ethan would know that communication with Dahn is the only way forward. Of course, Dahn needs to be willing to listen. Maybe that’s what Gabi can get him to do!
Zeke gets on the wrong side of the law
Finally, we get to see Zeke find a way to help Margaret. Since she can’t go to the bus shelter, Zeke finds a way to bring the bus shelter to her. It should be a happy ending for Margaret, but it ends up causing more of a problem. You see, the feed cuts out.
Over at Zeke’s apartment, we find out that the police have come in and started to dismantle everything. Lacey is quick to grab a cell phone, but this is just a small part of Zeke’s set up.
Wait, why is the police in? For the bus station cameras? Not at all! It’s linked to something from earlier in the episode. Zeke opted to hack into the police database, and we all know that the police will have systems set up to tell when someone has found a backdoor in the system. Was it really that surprising to find out that Trent and the cops knew all about it?
I love Trent’s anger in this episode. He can’t believe that Zeke was so stupid to do this. Sure, he understands why, but how could Zeke be dumb enough to let himself get caught? This is going to lead to some major issues for Zeke and the M&A team as a whole. Is Sir starting to win?
