It’s that time of year when our favorite shows take their winter breaks. Found season 2 has now started its lengthy break, and you’ll want to know when the series will return.

We’re not getting into spoilers from the Found season 2 fall finale. It only aired last night, Thursday, Nov. 21, so not everyone will have had a chance to watch that yet. We’ll have plenty of fallout coverage coming soon for the fall finale.

For now, we want to focus on the break. This is a lengthy one, but nothing too out of the ordinary for the TV schedule.

When will Found season 2 return with new episodes?

The previous episode was the last of 2024. The good news is that Found season 2 will return in January 2025. NBC has set the date for Thursday, Jan. 16. This is the same night that the two Law & Order shows will also return, so we’ll continue with our Thursday nights of crime.

The break is perfectly normal. It just doesn’t seem like that with the way things have worked over the last few years. The pandemic and then the strike action of 2023 led to some major changes to the TV schedules, so we’re going back to the way things were in the 2019–2020 schedule before the pandemic shut the world down.

This winter break allows for three things. The first is that the cast and crew get some time off. While the first episodes for January and into February will be filmed, there will still be more episodes to work through. This break allows for the cast to take a break and then get back into filming.

The second thing is a break for the schedule. There are only so many episodes and they need to spread out across nine months. That means breaks here and there in the schedule, and a longer winter break makes a lot of sense.

The third thing is to protect the linear ratings. We all know that the linear ratings take a fall during the holiday season. Rather than risk the future of the show, NBC and other broadcast networks take this time off and then bring episodes back in January when people have stopped their celebrations and are spending time at home away from the cold outside.

Found season 2 will return on Thursday, Jan 16 at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up on the series on Peacock.
