While High Potential season 2 episode 11 opens with another murder, the biggest question is about Lucia. Karadec and Lucia run into each other to kick start the story, and we can’t help but wonder if there is a spark there.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from High Potential season 2 episode 11.
The case itself involves a gamer, who ends up killed, and he’s sure he knows who did it. The problem is he couldn’t get away in time. Meanwhile, we have a lot of questions about Karadec and Lucia, and it looks like the two could end up getting back together!

Could Karadec and Lucia get back together on High Potential season 2 episode 11?
For Karadec, the episode opens with him bumping into Lucia. She’s back in town, and he ends up late because he wants to catch up with her. Morgan can immediately tell that Karadec is happy that he bumped into her, and she wants him to be happy. So, when he doesn’t text her back right away while on a case, she calls him out for it. This was the reason they broke up in the first place.
However, Karadec is being cautious, and I don’t blame him. While he broke it off, he knows that he hurt Lucia. It also hurt him. He hasn’t really had a relationship since, and not just because of his work.
Soto wants him to give this relationship a chance, as he is a different man now. She even likened it to her own divorce and how it affected her relationship with her children. Being all about work isn’t a good thing, and finding a balance is important.
In the end, Karadec decides that he should give it another shot, and to do that, he needs to prove to her that he can change. Morgan is more than happy for him. I know so many people want to see Karadec and Morgan together, but I love their sibling relationship. However, there is a hint that there could be something more in the longing look that Morgan gives as Karadec walks away with Lucia.

What happened to the gamer on High Potential?
When a gamer ends up dead, Major Crimes is on the case. He was sure that he had been poisoned, and he took activated charcoal to throw up the toxin. However, he still ended up dead, and he called his friend to say how he kept killing someone over and over again, and that person was now after him.
Of course, he meant about killing someone in the game, and many were sure that it was the other gamer who came to kill Declan in real life. Major Crimes heads over to Jubilee Games, who created the game that Declan was playing on, to find Declan’s stolen laptop, but that only convolutes the situation.
It turns out that Declan was addicted to the game, and one of the developers helped to get him off the game. Declan then helped others stop playing the game, leading to the Most Valuable Players leave. However, Declan relapsed and went back into the game, so, was it a gamer, or was someone else behind the murder?

It turns out that Elliot plays Battle Dynasty, the game that Declan was playing. With this, he helps with the case, because he’s able to explain about how the chat can make mistakes because it’s a chat translator. It puts the focus back on the other game. “Tepo” is the word for gun and puffer fish (or poison canon), and now Major Crimes gets the poison that was ingested!
This also helps to narrow down the killer, as it has to be someone with access to the toxin. That takes them to a licensed chef to serve puffer fish, and his two sons — one of whom plays video games.
The plot thickens when it turns out the chef had a direct connection to the chef. The chef had paid Declan to kill his son in the game over and over again to get the boy to quit. In the end, it’s all in the DNA. The blood on the food bag that Declan had didn’t come from Rio. It came from his twin brother Jin. It turns out that Jin thought he was doing what Rio wanted him to do, and now that he’s been caught, he’s scared enough to hurt himself.

It turns out that there’s some sort of freak DNA thing thanks to twins merging and two DNAs being possible. Jin doesn’t actually exist. Rio did commit the murder, and the dad knew. With a bit of tech, they’re able to pin the murder on a child that doesn’t exist. This is just one of those High Potential episodes you need to watch to really understand it, and I love it!
Rio’s dad tried to actually save Declan, and that’s why Declan drank the activated charcoal. It doesn’t take too long for Major Crimes to get to the bottom of it all. How far will a parent go to protect their children? In a lot of cases, they’ll try to cover up a murder.
High Potential airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC and streams the following day on Hulu.
