There isn't a new episode of Law & Order season 24 tonight, and here's why
Thursdays are supposed to be all about our favorite crime dramas. Well, there isn’t a new episode of the trio on NBC tonight, Thursday, Nov. 28. That includes Law & Order.
The lack of new episode tonight won’t be that surprising. It is Thanksgiving, which means a lot of holiday-themed content. NBC gets the rights to the Thanksgiving football game rather than Prime Video getting it. This isn’t your usual Thursday Night Football.
But it means that NBC can’t air two things at the same time. Plus, even if it could, there wouldn’t be an episode of Law & Order on. Putting a new episode of the series on tonight would be a bad idea for the linear ratings.
Law & Order is now on its winter break
There’s more bad news, though. It’s not just this Thursday that the show is off. The show is off the air for the rest of 2024. The previous episode was the season 24 fall finale. Like many other shows, we’re now officially into the winter break.
NBC has set the return date for the series. We’ll see the two sides of justice return on Thursday, Jan. 16. This is a week after the One Chicago shows, which is disappointing, but not to worry. Law & Order season 24, episode 9 will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT as usual.
What can we expect? Well, your guess is as good as ours. While there is a promo for the return of the series, it doesn’t give us much in the way of storyline tease. The focus is on the two teams working on getting justice in their own way.
This isn’t surprising considering the long wait that we have. We will get a synopsis closer to the show’s return, which will give us an idea of what specifically to expect in the new episode. For now, here’s a look at the promo:
Law & Order is available to stream on Peacock so you can catch up on the series.
