The gala-period storyline has focused on the murderers trying to get away with, well, murder. Grosse Pointe Garden Society season 1, episode 6 brought us a different storyline, but there is a connection at the end.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Grosse Pointe Garden Society season 1, episode 6.
The episode opened with Marilyn at the gala, when she starts to get messages that there is movement spotted on her bedroom cameras. Well, Marilyn walks in there, but there’s a sudden change to the feel of her storyline, as we find her covered in blood and washing knives in the sink.
Of course, the big question from the beginning is whether she killed her husband or not. It’s clear that there’s no love in that marriage. I’m not even sure her husband likes her, and I have to question why he’s even still with her. I guess appearance is everything to them.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society told us what happened without us realizing
It turns out that a scene in the “Five Months Earlier” timeline told us exactly what happened. Marilyn asked her husband to stop leaving the windows open, but her husband said that it was too hot in the house. Marilyn was concerned about coyotes outside getting to her beloved cat, but her husband doesn’t care about the cat one bit. To be honest, I have to question why there aren’t screens on the windows but never mind.
Sure enough, we find out that it was a coyote. At the end of the episode, Alice rushes into the vet clinic where Marilyn is still dressed in her gala dress. That raises questions, but Alice brushes them off and finds out what happened to Mr. Fingers, the cat. A window was left open and a coyote got in. Fortunately, Mr. Fingers is a fighter, and Marilyn gets the good news that Mr. Fingers has survived.
Marilyn wants to know who stole the quilt in Grosse Pointe Garden Society
The end of the episode brought some much bigger questions, though. While driving to the vet clinic, Marilyn saw the sedan that Catherine and Birdie were in with Quiche in the trunk. Part of the quilt from the gala was sticking out, and Marilyn isn’t going to forget that.
Marilyn wants to know who has stolen the quilt, and she has some theories. She thinks that it’s Gary’s sedan, and she notes that Gary’s wife wasn’t happy that he didn’t bid high for that quilt. Will Marilyn be the one to expose the murder? And is Gary Quiche, because it’s certainly seeming more and more likely.
