Matlock isn't back with new episodes tonight for a good reason

Matlock is still on a break, and it's for a good reason this week, Thursday, Nov. 28. Here's when the show will return.

Matlock took a week off last week from new episodes, and the same applies this week. To be honest, missing an episode on Thursday, Nov. 28 makes a lot of sense, and we do have some good news in this post.

Tonight is Thanksgiving. It’s a time to spend with family and watch movies together. Or it’s a time to watch football. Maybe you’re still eating a late dinner. Either way, you’re not watching normal broadcast TV and normal broadcast TV knows that.

CBS is opting for a night of reruns of its Thursday night shows tonight. You can watch a rerun of Matlock’s episode “Rome, in a Day,” which saw Matty settle into her new role at the law firm. Olympia showed her skills as an attorney when she helped a developmentally delayed teenager.

When will Matlock return with new episodes

The great news is that this is the last week of the planned break. Matlock season 1, episode 7 will air on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the usual time of 9 p.m. ET/PT. This also isn’t the last episode of 2024, as there is at least one more planned, airing on Thursday, Dec. 12. That could be the fall finale.

We’re going into these episodes with excellent news. Matlock has already been renewed for a second season, so it looks like Kathy Bates will need to wait a little longer for retirement—the role is worth it, though!

What to expect in Matlock season 1, episode 7

When the show returns, we’ll see Matty get another case that is on the more personal side. It involves a woman suing due to issues after a clinical trial. This is going to be an interesting case considering there are usually waivers involved in clinical trials because there may be adverse reactions.

This is Matty’s first pharmaceutical case, and she’s working with Julian on this one. It gives her time to learn more about him and to see whether he may have been involved in her own daughter’s death.

Olympia will head the Christmas party for the firm this year. It leads to her finding something out about Julian. Could this be linked to her failed marriage to him, or is it linked to Matty?
