Matty is put to the test in Matlock season 1, episode 3, and not just in the courtroom. Her secrets may start to come out.

During the previous episode, Matty nearly slipped up. And it wasn’t just in her nightmares. She is trying to get things a little too fast. This is one of those cases where she needs to be willing to play the long game, but naturally, not everyone wants to do that. Honestly, the long game is worth it—and I can say that from experience.

With the slip ups in the previous episode, it’s not surprising that she’s a little worried in the latest episode, especially as she has to put her rusty trial kills to the test.

There’s a human lie detector in the office in Matlock season 1, episode 3

The new episode sees Matty deal with a trial. It’s not hers! However, she will need to put her rusty trial skills to the test. Olympia is not letting her off easy just because of her age. Olympia is suspicious, and we can’t really blame her, but it’s hard not to hate her for being so mean to Matty at times.

Matty wants to do things a little differently. Olympia doesn’t care as long as they win the trial, and this is a big one. They’re representing a woman who claims that she was sexually harassed by her boss and was wrongfully terminated. It’s so hard to prove these things, and it’s why so few women go forward with the things that happened to them, but maybe Matty can get the jury to see through the boss.

Meanwhile, there’s a human lie detector in the office. Shae is the firm’s jury consultant, which means she will be around for a fair bit of the trial. Is this going to be where Matty starts to really slip up? Will Shae and Olympia work together to find out what Matty is really doing?
