The NCIS: Origins season 1 finale will see a younger version of another NCIS franchise character, but it’s not one of the ones we’d like to see. Hetty isn’t the former LA boss that’s stepping into the prequel series.

In the NCIS: Origins season 1 finale, the murder of Hernandez will be uncovered. This is set to turn the tables on Gibbs, who thinks he has gotten away with the revenge of his wife and daughter’s murders so far. It looks like this storyline will bring in a younger version of another character we’ve already met. This one was in the backdoor pilot for NCIS: Los Angeles.

The arrival of Lara Macy in NCIS: Origins

When we think of the NCIS: Los Angeles boss, we initially think of Hetty Lange. However, she wasn’t the Special Agent in Charge at the Office of Special Projects at first. That only happened when the spin-off was officially ordered to series, with the title changing to Operations Manager.

Instead, Lara Macy was the one in charge of the Los Angeles base at first, and she met with Gibbs in the backdoor pilot, making it clear that the two had history. Now it’s time to find out what that history really was.

Lara will come into NCIS: Origins as the Military Police investigator. Yes, an MP is needed to investigate the situation with Hernandez, and she is ready to challenge the status quo. In a world that is dominated by men, Lara is willing to push to climb up the career ladder, and we know what she achieves when it comes to the story 18 years or so later.

Who will play Lara Macy in NCIS: Origins?

In NCIS season 6, Louise Lombard took on the role of Lara Macy. Of course, this is a younger version of the character, and the casting department seems to have done a great job with this one. Claire Berger is taking on the younger version, according to TVLine, and there are certainly a few similarities between the two actors.

Lala and Mike will not make it easy for Lara to get to the bottom of the investigation. They both know what Gibbs did, and they are willing to protect him. We know how this storyline plays out based on Gibbs’ stories in NCIS, but it is always interesting to see how the situation actually goes down. Just how much did Lala and Mike risk their careers for Gibbs?

NCIS: Origins airs on Mondays at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
